"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Paul to the persecuted at Philippi (2:5-11)

How not to love clergy.

2 comments:

  1. In the first place, asking the clergy to mow the lawn in the summer and shovel the snow in the winter is a kindness, since both of these activities are heart-healthy. Much better activities than sitting, SITTING, around reading commentaries on the Gospel of John.

In the second place, your phony little cartoon did not mention in it's instructions to the clergy that he/she should understand the the BUILDING is the church. Not the clergy and certainly not some of those people who don't care where they sit and hang around after to pretend that they're so holy. If you just went to a 59 minute service (not that I'm keeping track) why would you want to have a bible study? A wise clergy person (PC) would consider Ritz crackers and Gatorade for communion. It doesn't really matter much what theology we follow, a long as we're able to be in this building, which, after all, is THE CHURCH.
